Where My Work Began: The Healing Art of Touch
Massage therapy as the foundation of my path into resilience, embodiment, and transformation.
Before I was a coach, I was a massage therapist. I return to this work as a vital part of my practice—supporting clients in unwinding stress, releasing held patterns, and reconnecting with the body’s natural intelligence.
Offered in a quiet, grounded setting, these sessions invite the body to soften, reset, and remember its innate capacity for resilience.
I’ve been working in the field of massage and bodywork since 1993, when I completed my training at the Swedish Institute in New York City. I spent five years practicing in Connecticut, then moved to California, where I continued for over two decades—working with everyone from athletes to those recovering from injury, often alongside physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons. Much of my work in California was with endurance athletes, focused on repairing their muscles so they could get back to training or their next race.
These days, I find myself drawn to a slower, more integrated approach—one that honors the connection between our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Our bodies hold patterns of constriction—tight places shaped by habit, stress, or old stories. And constriction creates resistance: it makes us more tired, more reactive, less free in our movement and expression... and certainly less resilient.
I believe resilience lives in the body. Through skilled, attuned touch, we can begin to unwind what’s stuck and reconnect with the vitality, fluidity, and inner resources that are already there.
I also served as Massage Director at Presidio Sports & Medicine in San Francisco from 1999 to 2013, and designed and taught courses on massage for sports injuries and chronic pain. Along the way, I’ve trained in Active Release Technique (ART), Shiatsu, Pilates, lymphatic drainage, and Reiki (Level 1), and I’m currently continuing my studies in Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy.
